Job Description:
Mayo Clinic, a globally recognized leader in healthcare and
medical research, is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing
Technician to join our Surgical Services team. In this role, you
will receive on-the-job training to expertly perform
decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of medical and
surgical supplies. With a focus on providing whole-person care,
this position plays a critical role in ensuring high standards of
cleanliness and safety for all surgical procedures in compliance
with our mission to heal. This hands-on position provides an
opportunity to develop specialized skills in a world-class medical
environment dedicated to compassionate, integrated healthcare.
Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment following
established protocols. Operate sterilizers, ultrasonic machines,
and other equipment for cleaning and disinfecting. Inspect,
assemble, and pack surgical instruments and kits. Maintain accurate
sterilization records in compliance with industry regulations.
Monitor inventory and report low stock levels to ensure
availability of necessary supplies. Work collaboratively with
surgical staff to provide timely delivery and retrieval of surgical
supplies. Knowledge of sterilization techniques and equipment.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain strict
protocols. Good manual dexterity and attention to detail. Effective
communication and teamwork skills. Capability to manage time
efficiently and adapt to fast-paced environments. Medical Insurance
Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Certification as a Certified
Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) is highly valued and
encouraged to be obtained within the first two years of
employment.
