Position Description Ben's Structural Fabricating is looking for an aspiring and detailed individual to join our Miscellaneous Metals team working on a variety of tasks related to welding and fabricating, specifically for railings, handrails, stairs, and other non-structural building components as a Metal Rail and Stair Welder / Fitter. This is an artful and critical role in our fabrication process here at Ben's, we take pride in all our steel fabrication projects, our top-of-the-line automation, our quality assurance, and our commitment to safety and most importantly, our people. We're more than a team, we're a family. Daily Responsibilities: 1. Use of Dragon automated pipe bending machine 2. Use of fully automated layout table, tacking pieces together while spending a large amount of time kneeling on top of the 10 feet long table 3. Review blueprints to accurately determine weld requirements and fabricate weldment 4. Surface preparation prior to and after welding; sand, grind, wire brush, degrease, etc (Roughly 50% of position) 5. Conduct GMAW-pulse (MIG) welding in the flat and horizontal positions, on multiple types of surfaces including mild steel and stainless-steel components 6. Frequent lifting of 50-100 lbs Work Life Balance 1. Monday-Thursday, 6:00am to 4:15pm 2. No weekends! 3. Possible overtime on Fridays, 6:00am-3:00pm Report directly to our facility in Waite Park each day, no out of town travel required. Perfect for maintaining work / life balance! Proven welding skills - Preferred 2 years or more of current MIG experience on multiple types of surfaces (mild steel, stainless steel, etc.) 2. Must be Able to pass a Horizontal (2G) weld qualification test upon hire 3. Ability to read blueprints containing dimensions, common weld symbols, and weld specifications 4. A passion for and commitment to production welding 5.
